A [currently] 24 year old album made 24 years ago by 24 year old people. This is probably the last pure analog album in the ELW/EUCCI/AODL timeline, recorded and edited and mixed entirely on cassette (4 track and direct recording), and really paved the way for the AODL work that would start coming out five years later. This is a lot of big strange pedals hooked to televisions and radios and pianos and each other in forgotten combinations. We had a lot of fun making this in spring of 1999 and I'm happy to revisit and restore these recordings which had long been confined only to a handful of copies on cassette.

I'm happy to bring back 'The Piano Rose' and 'The Bathroom Fixtures Soundtrack' in particular. Those were the first real in-person collaborations between J. Shell (Eucci/AODL) and C. Roland, with C. Roland being an active participant in ELW for the rest of that beautiful and strange year.

Immediately following this album we did the 'audiotactilerotica' series, also in May 1999, which introduced us to F.Marcy, E.Sandoval, J.Moyta, and K.Cheuffer who would all contribute to the next phase in some form or another.

Summer of 1999 brought Minidisc to the lineup and a change in editing, and a bigger expansion of participants and places throughout fall and into winter of 1999. Then mid-winter 99/2000 saw the little grouping we had at the time break apart as people moved to new lives and projects, and The Audio ELW shuttered, though most of this final form of the ELW did a few more small collaborative works into the early 2000s.
